JIDA v.2 – VIP Message From The President of JBCCCI
Message From The President of Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber Of Commerce & Industry
I am very happy to put forth some of my thoughts for the third issue of your annual magazine – The Refined Living 2.0 Issue, and take this opportunity to congratulate the current team leading JIDA for a very successful year.
The property market dynamic in Johor will continue to experience the revolution where more Malaysians are now favouring value-added properties, especially lifestyle properties. These properties are usually equipped with facilities and surrounded by amenities, which allows for a more comprehensive and comfortable lifestyle. With most young urbanites searching for work-life balance, the lifestyle living concept is fast gaining a foothold in the country.
This is where the interior design and renovation industry will be a game changer as it adds tremendous value to properties. Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interiors, sometimes including the exterior, of a space or building ‘with people in mind’.
Designers today need to be ready to be more flexible with their service offerings. Discerning clients might no longer want designers to specify products and buy on their behalf but they do value the creative input and experience that an interior designer can bring to the table. Whatever the room of the house, what they look for is high quality, sustainable furnishing products that can last a long time. Thinking long-term, they need solutions that are flexible enough to adapt to their changing needs through the years; all to ensure that they can live, learn or work in an environment that is cosy, soothing and also aesthetically pleasing.
Interior design was previously seen as playing a secondary role to architecture. To keep pace with this changing marketplace, I hope JIDA’s design professionals of all career stages will embrace new opportunities in technology, develop new design models for the way people live, work and play in the 21st century.
Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry is proud to welcome JIDA as one of our valuable trade association member since August 2016 and hope to work well together to spur Johor Bahru to greater heights.
I wish JIDA a meaningful and fulfilling 2016, continue to adapt to shifting industry trends and anticipate evolving consumer priorities.
