CEO of Paragon Education on His Thoughts About Educating Bright Minds, Locally

For anyone who has travelled across the Causeway in the wee hours of the morning, one would find the sight of young students in their uniforms, queueing up sleepily in the customs quite familiar.

As someone who has lived and studied in Singapore since the age of 3, Dato’ Jeffrey wondered why many of his peers had to endure the long traveling times and early hours just to get “better” education across the Causeway. These students who had a lot of potential, were sacrificing time with family and loved ones for the sake of education. This realization and his own experience was what inspired Dato’ Jeffrey Lai Juin Jye to start his own education group in Johor Bahru that parallels international standards.

The Right Education Takes You Places

A joint venture based on common goals and a strong belief towards bettering education in the local scene was thus formed between Kuopacific Group and Joland Group. The venture is now being headed by Dato’ Sri Edwin Tan Pei Seng, Managing Director of Paragon Education Sdn Bhd and Dato’ Jeffrey Lai Juin Jye, CEO of Paragon Education Sdn Bhd.

Many would question why successful businessmen would go into the business of education? Having found the recipe of success in business, Dato’ Jeffrey hopes to replicate this success by being a direction maker for the local education industry whilst dedicating his life to the philanthropy of education. In fact, it is not his wish to compete with the current local private schools or international schools as he believes that Paragon Education is “a class of their own”.

Perhaps the most interesting thing to note is that the school is fully funded without taking out a bank loan and RM 120 million was invested with the purpose of building the campus with state-of-the-art facilities and technology. The current management and teachers stand at 150-staff strong and is expected to grow within the next few years.

To Dato’ Jeffrey, the philosophy that “A Good Future Begins with Proper Education” stands true. In a student’s life, the involvement of the Parents, Teachers and School plays a vital role in moulding the individual, which is why Paragon Education offers multiple student benefits at the moment for all deserving students to unleash their full potential. The Future of Paragon Education

In the short term, Paragon Education’s first pre-school from a famous franchise chain in Singapore is expected to launch within the next year in Johor Bahru. With their sights set on the big picture, Paragon Education’s long-term plan includes a college, a talent school set to open its flagship in Kuala Lumpur and Paragon Edu Care to match up with the existing Paragon Private and International Schools.
